Been nice an' quiet lately! I've gotta say, though, it's nice ta get an easy week ta round out the year. Even spotted a couple familiar treats myself! And I've still got a bit a mochi left if anybody wants it. Ask quick, I'm gonna eat it myself if you don't. [He grins.] Shame natto's not a New Year's food, ya know? I've been missin' it.

Wonder if our next one's gonna be tough ta make up for it? Well... they do say oni laugh when ya start talkin' about the future. Better not tempt any that might be hangin' around.

Instead a that, how about ya tell me what you're plannin' for the new year?

Sounds like we have some interestin' things goin' on.

But there isn't really anything that I care about. I mean- there are my teammates, and well, we care for each other? We look out for each other, at least. But I don't think that is what you are talking about?

What I'm talkin' about are things you like to do, things that are important to ya -- people matter, too, but that's not everythin'.

Well when I have free time, I guess I usually spend it drawing. Does that count?

Maybe so, but I am not really anything else. I am just a shinobi.

Well.. at home, at least. But with no missions or village here I am.. not really much of anything.

[Sai is a little different to the other Konoha residents. Being brought up in a secluded organization he was pretty much brainwashed into believing he is a tool given missions to protect his village, and nothing more.]

All you've really gotta do is do things. You are who you are; an' "ninja" isn't the whole list. Take a little time, try things out, see what it is ya like, and then just keep doin' it.

But in my free time, if Naruto doesn't want to do anything, I tend to just paint or read. I am not sure if there is really anything else that I want to do?
