That aside... I've been stuck in here more'n long enough. Gotta keep myself entertained somehow. Anyone up for a card game? Poker, blackjack; anything but solitaire. I'm settin' up in the front hall of Latimir.

Hanekoma pulled up a chair, settling in it with his still-splinted leg stretched out for comfort. His hand-drawn deck of cards wasn't quite as sturdy as cardstock would have made it, but it was easy enough to shuffle, and the interlocking pattern on the backs made it impossible to see through them. Shuffle, cut, shuffle; he zoned out, hands still moving reflexively, and watched the stairwell.

This would be an interesting game indeed.

[It isn't too long before Lelouch shows up. Though he's really a bit more bundled up than normal. Even he doesn't like getting worse than he already is. His violet eyes watch the shuffling and the very obviously clever handmade deck of cards. It's enough to make him chuckle quietly.]

Hanekoma glanced up, smirking. "When you are, Catnip. Have a seat for me, won't ya?"

He tapped the cards into a neat deck and held them out. "Here. Cut."

And here Lelouch rolls his eyes a bit, clearing his throat. He takes a seat and does as instructed. It's been a while since he's played cards. That smirk is a bit unnerving, but his pride will not but shaken by this.

"Nothing better to do?"

"Not a thing." He waved a hand at the splinted leg. "Only so much you can do in a couple rooms before you start climbin' the walls, you know?"

Repossessing the deck, he dealt out five cards to each of them. "Five-card draw, no more than three discards, that good with you?"

Lelouch takes a glance before sneezing. He can relate. "When did that happen?"

Rules rules. Every game had them. And Lelouch is not about to argue over them. "Sounds perfect."

"Around the time a ceiling fell on me," Hanekoma said, grin turning wry as he swept up his hand and glanced at it. "Shouldn't be more than another few weeks before it's back to normal."

Not bad. Two queens, couple of lower cards, king of spades to go with his queen. Without letting any reaction show on his face, he folded the two low cards together and set them face-down.

Now, what kind of favor should he ask for? The wryness shaded back to its old smirk, and he leaned back in the chair.

Immediately Lelouch put on a more apathetic face. If there is one thing he is good at, it is being unreadable. He's going to have to be with this hand. Three lower cards and two jacks.

"That's right. You mentioned something about being all right shortly after," he replies, also putting two of the lower cards face-down on the table.
