Continued violence has made it difficult to expand my observations of the city. I will therefore summarize the information I have successfully gathered and list a few hypotheses.

First, the languages of the departed residents of this place appear, based on street signs and available literature, to be English, Greek and Latin. This reinforces my suspicion that Discedo is an alternate universe; however, there are two moons present, the larger of which shows fewer crater marks than our own and the smaller of which is too far to make out details with the naked eye. How is it that a world physically so different from ours - indicating extremely early divergence - could have developed along such similar lines at a later date? Is it possible that these languages were brought to Discedo by other abductees from alternate worlds more similar to ours?

Alternatively, it is possible that the smaller moon is a human artifact. This still does not explain the different cratering pattern, but does suggest a world with fewer deviances from our timeline.

The scientists' abilities remain unclear; however, I am beginning to suspect that they are more technologically based than equivalent to the abilities of a Composer or an Angel. Apart from unwillingly transporting sentient beings from alternate worlds, they appear to exert no controlling influence; nor have they set any apparent rules. I intend to obtain tools and take a closer look at both the communicator and, if I can obtain one, a removed chip. As examples of the scientists' technology, they should reveal the resources available to those individuals.

Not to distract you guys from everything goin' on, but I hear there's a lab over at the school where a guy might pick up some tools. Anybody know who's runnin' it, and whether they'd mind me stoppin' by to borrow one or two?

If they're not for public use, I'd be just as happy with directions to the industrial district or any hardware shops this place might have.

My Senpai gave me some tools, but... you're probably right.

[identity profile] greatcuppajoe.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Your senpai wouldn't have any more where those came from, would he? I'm willin' to trade.

[identity profile] oneenemyleft.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. I can definitely ask. Or, if you wanted, you could just take the ones I have.

[identity profile] greatcuppajoe.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I wouldn't want to do that, Sparky. You're using 'em, aren't you?

[identity profile] oneenemyleft.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
I am, but... they're going to waste.

[identity profile] greatcuppajoe.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Around here, the more people who've got the tools to fix stuff, the better. You keep yours.

[identity profile] oneenemyleft.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
If you say so. But, I really wouldn't mind.

[identity profile] greatcuppajoe.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
I would! I'm plannin' on using these things for a while, so I'd rather get ones I don't have to return.

[identity profile] oneenemyleft.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
["You could keep mine, I can't use them."] Okay.

[identity profile] greatcuppajoe.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
How ya been doing, Sparky? That arm back in workin' shape?

[identity profile] oneenemyleft.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
...I was able to take the sling off yesterday. My arm is still healing, and it's really stiff, but if I keep practicing with it, it should heal.

[identity profile] oneenemyleft.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
It's good, isn't it...? Thank you.

[identity profile] greatcuppajoe.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Yup. You're makin' sure to stick with plenty of stretches and not lift anything heavy, right?

[identity profile] oneenemyleft.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Mm. Now that Amada-kun is staying with me, I don't have to do any work at all.

[identity profile] greatcuppajoe.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Amada, huh? Don't think I've met him. He another friend of yours?

[identity profile] oneenemyleft.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, from home. He's actually still an elementary schooler, but he's very mature.

[identity profile] oneenemyleft.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
...I guess so. Amada-kun can take care of himself, and I still worry... it must be even worse for other children.

[identity profile] greatcuppajoe.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I think most of 'em have people taking care of them... but there's not too much a young kid can do here that I've noticed.

[identity profile] oneenemyleft.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
I wonder why they'd even be taken here...

[identity profile] greatcuppajoe.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Good question. You think there's somethin' special about the ones who are?

[identity profile] oneenemyleft.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
I already know that in Amada-kun's case.

But as for the others... it's harder to say.

[identity profile] greatcuppajoe.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
It'd be an interestin' thing to find out... but ya think they'd all answer - or know for sure?

[identity profile] oneenemyleft.livejournal.com 2009-06-27 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
It's hard to say... and probably not too important. I mean, the adults are here, too. There's no need to trouble the children...
