Been nice an' quiet lately! I've gotta say, though, it's nice ta get an easy week ta round out the year. Even spotted a couple familiar treats myself! And I've still got a bit a mochi left if anybody wants it. Ask quick, I'm gonna eat it myself if you don't. [He grins.] Shame natto's not a New Year's food, ya know? I've been missin' it.

Wonder if our next one's gonna be tough ta make up for it? Well... they do say oni laugh when ya start talkin' about the future. Better not tempt any that might be hangin' around.

Instead a that, how about ya tell me what you're plannin' for the new year?

Sounds like we have some interestin' things goin' on.

I can't help but agree. It seems to me that the Animus aren't ones to give a gift without a time limit.

Too true. He might've been friendly enough, but he didn't strike me as all that patient.

Can't say I mind, though; I'd rather get the puzzle solved sooner than later myself.

The quicker the better. This is a decent vacation, but I'd rather not have to worry if I've left the stove on, so to speak.

You got any other ideas, or are we stickin' with uncovering the scientists' location first?

I think that's our strongest lead for now, so we should stick to it. If it falls through, we'll take things from there.

He nearly grabbed my PCD out of my hands once for trying to get your opinion on his spraypainting.

Oh yeah? [Neku and his hero-worship. It's kind of cute, really: more a reflection on the level of his potential than anything else, given the messages Hanekoma encodes in his artwork, but still.]

When we see Teleos again, we should ask if he knows. They're the ones in charge of taking death fees, after all.

Exactly. Just because they don't take it doesn't mean they may not know where it goes. Obviously it isn't completely gone, if those that have left are able to gradually remember things. At least, so rumor says, anyway.

Oh yeah? Now that's interestin'. I wonder if it's some kinda effect of the world itself, if people who get back get their memories returnin'.

I don't suppose everyone gets that option, though. I've apparently been here before, and I remember nothing of it.

Might depend on the length of time you're gone. Neku was only out for a couple weeks; we'll hafta keep an eye on him and see.
