Sorry 'bout that, guys. I'm in one piece.
...Still got it, too, Sho. Pockets're useful that way.
Everybody else all right? And, Shiki, that offer of crash space still open? I'd be obliged. Seems like the old place's a fixer-upper all of a sudden.

...ah, sorry. I shouldn't talk like that. There really isn't much we can do about it, either way, so...

...ah. But, I'm sure if we all try, we can find the answers eventually, right? At the very least, it's an...interesting challenge.
no subject
So, what kinda questions have you been findin' lately?

As well, the technology here is...these communicators are unlike anything I've seen. I've been trying to figure out what it is about them that's so strange...I think it's because...there's really nothing more to it. It seems like such a simple little device. But it's...have you noticed there's no way to take it apart? There's no apparent power source, and you can't connect anything to it. I don't know...maybe it's just because it's built different, but I can't interface with it at all...
...a-ah, sorry! I got carried away there. B-but other than that, I...

I tried messin' around with my communicator a bit, yeah. Interestin' little device, isn't it? Seems a shame ta go to destructive lengths tryin' to figure it out, but I might if I ever come across a spare.
Didn't realize ya knew that much about hardware, though, Alpha.

Yes...you wouldn't want to cut yourself off from the rest of the city, of course. But if you could take it apart to see how it worked...
A-ah, I...I don't really, ahaha. I'm actually not very good with mechanical things. I just thought...in my world these types of devices are usually built with me in mind, so...they're usually fairly easy for me to understand, you know?
no subject
What do ya mean, built with you in mind?
no subject
...AH! Because! Because I'm a robot! S-sorry, I...I should have mentioned that...! Heh heh heh...
[She is so embarrassed.]

So lemme guess, humanoid robots're pretty common where you're from? We haven't got 'em in my world.
no subject
no subject
Interestin', that. Where are you from again?
no subject
Ah...I'm from Japan. Though, I've heard others say the same, but they really don't sound the same as my Japan. It might as well be another world.

Could still be an alternate, but a lot can happen in seventy years.
[ooc; All right! I'm vaguely familiar with Alpha's canon, but only vaguely~]
no subject
Um...could you tell me a bit of what it's like in your world? You might not have robots, but things like alternate dimensions don't seem to surprise you...
no subject
My world's got tech up to cell phones, computers, limited space travel, television - nothin' as advanced as what they've got around here, and our fanciest robots are manufacturin' and exploration models.
no subject
Hm...that doesn't sound too different, actually...technology back home isn't really beyond that.
no subject
Oh? Interestin'. Wonder why not?
no subject
Mm...probably because of everything that happened...advancing technology really became less of a priority. I guess you could say...people probably began to want a simpler life.
